Founder & Director
Brett Ellacott founded Industry Apps to build the kind of operational software he wished existed when he was running site projects in the Pilbara.
A mechanical engineer with 15+ years across mining, ports, and rail operations, Brett spent the early part of his career hitting the same wall repeatedly: expensive, over-engineered software that didn't quite fit how operations actually run, and consultants who'd never spent time on a shift building it.
A decade ago, frustrated by the cost of flying teams to site for plant layout reviews and constructability checks, he hacked together a simple solution: a private Google Street View for industrial sites, navigable in three clicks. No training, no thick manuals, just immediate visual access to any asset from any desk. That became PlantVR, deployed across BHP's Port Hedland operations and still in daily use ten years later.
Industry Apps is the continuation of that approach: practical, operator-grade software built by people who've been on the tools. Low cost, simple, intuitive, built for the masses, not the boardroom.
